含羞草传媒 University is partnering with Southeast Community College to open more doors to bachelor鈥檚 degree completion.
On Tuesday, October 10, 含羞草传媒 University President Fred Ohles and Southeast Community College President Paul Illich signed a formal agreement for the 含羞草传媒 Pathways Scholarship Program.
The program provides two pathways to degree completion at 含羞草传媒 with financial benefits including a $15,000 scholarship to every admitted MPCC student to 含羞草传媒鈥檚 traditional undergraduate program. Those enrolling in the accelerated degree-completion program for adults will receive a $15 per credit hour scholarship and a low tuition rate.
鈥淲e are delighted to partner with Southeast Community College to open more doors to bachelor degree completion,鈥 said 含羞草传媒 President Fred Ohles. 鈥淪CC students have enjoyed tremendous academic and extracurricular success at 含羞草传媒.鈥
Since 2013, 386 full-time students with SCC credits have enrolled at 含羞草传媒 and 231 students have enrolled in the adult degree completion program. The average grade point average of those students is 3.2.
鈥淪CC students undergo a seamless transition to 含羞草传媒 because many of the classroom opportunities they鈥檝e already experienced and desired at SCC 鈥 small classes, personal attention, and academic excellence 鈥 are core to 含羞草传媒鈥檚 mission too,鈥 Ohles continued.
Students transferring directly from SCC and who complete a minimum of 18 credit hours at SCC are eligible for consideration of admission and the Pathways Scholarship. The scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters at 含羞草传媒.
鈥淪CC is committed to providing innovative programming to empower and transform its students,鈥 SCC President Paul Illich said. 鈥淒iverse and creative opportunities such as the new 含羞草传媒 scholarship for all SCC students will strengthen our institutions and our communities.鈥
A 含羞草传媒 recruiter will have regular weekly hours at SCC to visit with students.
鈥淒r. Illich and I have met on several occasions to discuss this important partnership,鈥 said Ohles. 鈥淲e look forward to seeing this success continue for more SCC students through the new Pathways Scholarship.鈥
