In memory of Larry Tesler
Published
We note here the passing yesterday of Larry Tesler, died at age 74.
Who is Larry Tesler you ask? Larry Tesler was a computer researcher who worked at the legendary Xerox PARC (Palo Alto Research Center) before he was "poached" by Apple Computer where he then worked for 17 years. Tesler worked on a variety of operating system and user interface projects for both Xerox and Apple.
Tesler is widely considered to be the father of the cut, copy and paste commands, as well as the search and replace commands. Developed for the computing environment at Xerox PARC, they were incorporated into the OS of the Apple Lisa and the early Macintosh OS.
