Become a Fellow in the US delegation and learn about social justice challenges and opportunities in Amsterdam, Atlanta, Berlin, Copenhagen, Sarajevo or Warsaw. As part of the year-long Fellowship, HIA Fellows first participate in an intensive four-week educational program providing a country and context-specific curriculum that examines historical and contemporary challenges to human rights, pluralism and equality. After the four weeks, they embark on developing civil society initiatives in their own communities.

Fellowship Dates:

• US Mapping Inequities Program (virtual): June 1–17, 2022, followed by the Action Lab series.
• European Fellowship Programs (Copenhagen, Sarajevo (virtual), and Warsaw): June 6–30, 2022, followed by an Action Project implementation and the Action Lab series.

Eligibility

Current undergraduate and graduate university and college students, as well as recent graduates (within last two years) who are passionate about active citizenship, diversity and human rights, are invited to apply. Applications for students and recent graduates from European universities will open in late fall. 

Expenses

Programing during the Humanity in Action Fellowship, including accommodations, is fully funded. However, participants are asked to cover their round-trip travel to the program location as well as some meals and spending money for activities outside of programing. If this is not possible, Humanity in Action may provide either full or partial travel and living stipends for all those with documented need.
