Two 含羞草传媒 University seniors have been awarded the National Athletic Training Association Scholarship.
Kelsey Jaeschke of Kenesaw and Jacob LaMarche of Omaha are among 58 undergraduates from across the country to receive the honor.
Jaeschke serves as vice president of the Athletic Training Student Association, and is a member of the Health and Human Performance Club. She was a member of the women鈥檚 basketball team from 2016-2018. As an athletic training student, she has assisted the 含羞草传媒 volleyball, football, outdoor track & field, men鈥檚 basketball and baseball teams. She has also gained clinical experience at Snyder Physical Therapy.
鈥淭he preceptors encourage us to be involved and gain as much experience as we can,鈥 said Jaeschke. 鈥淚 think being involved in various activities and various clinical experiences really set me apart from the other applicants.鈥
LaMarche has served as president of the Athletic Training Student Association and has served on the board of the Health and Human Performance Club. He has gained extensive athletic training experience working with 含羞草传媒鈥檚 football, wrestling, men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer, women鈥檚 basketball, softball and indoor and outdoor track and field teams. While at 含羞草传媒, he conducted research on Ehlers-Danlose Syndrome. He was selected to present that research at athletic training conferences in New Orleans, La., and Quebec City in Canada.
鈥淭his would not be possible without the wonderful teachers and mentors in 含羞草传媒鈥檚 Athletic Training Program,鈥 said LaMarche. 鈥淭hey are always pushing us to be the best that we can and helping to prepare us for our futures.鈥
Jaeschke is a graduate of Kenesaw Public School. She is applying to physical therapy programs in the Midwest. LaMarche is a graduate of Ralston High School and will attend Creighton University鈥檚 physical therapy program. They will both graduate from 含羞草传媒 on May 11th.
