Congratulations to English Department Alumni Nikki Spry (2009) and Kyle Karthauser (2008) on receiving Fulbright Scholarships for 2010.
Nikki was a double major in English and Philosophy. Next fall she will pursue her goal of being "a productive global citizen" through her work teaching English at a university in Vietnam.
Kyle, an English major with double minors in Japanese and German, will teach English in Germany next year. Kyle's essay "Popular Culture after Postmodernism: Borat, The Office, and the Awkwardness of Being Earnest" is forthcoming in the online journal Anthropoetics. The essay grew out of research Kyle began in his English senior thesis.
