A º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ University fraternity will remember two of its members with a pancake feed fundraiser.
Zeta Psi Fraternity’s Patty-Zach Pancake Feed will be held Thursday, March 29 from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Story Student Center dining hall.
The fundraiser honors the lives of Patrick McLaughlin and Zach Anderson, who both died in summer 2006 as a result of heart conditions.
The fraternity has held a pancake feed each year since their deaths in an effort to raise funds for Automated External Defibrillators (AED). AEDs are designed for victims of cardiac arrest, and take the guesswork out of traditional CPR methods as the AED machine coaches its user to detect heart rhythm and recommends the necessary immediate procedures.
Over the past five years, the Patty-Zach Pancake Feed has raised enough money to equip every º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ University building with an AED. Money raised at this year’s pancake feed will go to local charities.
Tickets are $4 in advance from any Zeta Psi Fraternity member and $5 at the door.
