º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ University art professor David Gracie currently has a painting included in a Chicago exhibit.
Gracie's painting, titled "Ice Cube," is an oil on plywood piece. It is featured in the Hyde Park Art Center exhibit titled "Mouthing."
The exhibit includes the work of emerging and established artists and includes a selection of sculpture, installation, paintings, drawings, photographs and video that explore the state of awareness or comprehension through the body's ability to interpret sensation without touching.
The exhibit will be on view from July 17 to October 16 at the Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago.
Gracie will be on sabbatical during the 2011-2012 academic year. He will spend it in New York City where he will complete several projects including a complete work of paintings for exhibitions in New York City and Lincoln. While on sabbatical, he also plans to develop an alternative artistic practices course and work on critical writing practices for use in his classroom.
