The ߲ݴý University Gold Rush dance team has won the UDA Spirit of the Midwest Challenge during its first-ever trip to the regional event.

“It was such an unreal feeling being able to finally compete in a regional event," says senior Madison Hallett.  “It was super exciting and of course, just a little nerve racking.  I'm so thankful to be a part of program history!"

The Prairie Wolves performed in the Hip Hop division with a performance choreographed by a guest choreographer, Gracie Firestone.

"This program has a lot of potential and attending this event is a steppingstone for what is to come,” says first-year head coach Becky Spataro. "The last couple weeks have been pretty busy as we finished up football season and began performing at basketball games, while also putting in extra hours to prepare our Hip Hop routine."

The competition took place at Papillion La-Vista South High School in Neb. on December 3 and the team is looking forward to defending its title at next year’s competition.
