A ߲ݴý University senior has been recognized by the March of Dimes as a “Student Nurse of the Year.”

Katie Noble of Grand Island was honored during the 14th Annual Nurse of the Year Awards on November 15 in Omaha.

“I am truly humbled and honored to receive the March of Dimes Student Nurse of the Year nomination and award,” said Noble. “Thank you ߲ݴý for your various opportunities and support.”

The statewide event presented by Methodist Women’s Hospital, recognizes exceptional nurses, creates awareness of professional excellence, and promotes the future of the nursing profession, while helping advance the mission of the March of Dimes—to improve the health of babies by preventing premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.

Noble will graduate in May from ߲ݴý University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She is employed at CHI Health St. Elizabeth Hospital as a float pool student nurse technician and interned at ChildServe in Des Moines, Iowa, as a children rehabilitation nursing intern. She is a graduate of Grand Island Central Catholic High School.

This is the second consecutive year a ߲ݴý nursing student has been selected for the award.
