߲ݴý University has added Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte as its newest partner in the Pathways Scholarship Program.

߲ݴý University President Fred Ohles and Mid-Plains Community College President Ryan Purdy have signed a formal agreement for the program.

The new program partners ߲ݴý with community colleges in an effort to open more doors to bachelor’s degree completion.

The program provides two pathways to degree completion at ߲ݴý with financial benefits including a $15,000 scholarship to every admitted MPCC student to ߲ݴý’s traditional undergraduate program. Those enrolling in the accelerated degree-completion program for adults will receive a $15 per credit hour scholarship and a low tuition rate.

Since 2014, 50 MPCC students have transferred to ߲ݴý.

“We’re delighted to strengthen our educational partnerships through launching the MPCC Pathways to ߲ݴý program,” said ߲ݴý President Fred Ohles. “We’re excited to welcome more MPCC students and help them continue to reach their academic goals and extracurricular success.”

“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with ߲ݴý on their Pathways Scholarship transfer program and their willingness to provide a significant level of scholarship to help MPCC students continue their education towards completing their bachelor’s degree,” said MPCC President Ryan Purdy. “This scholarship will provide another choice to those students wishing to transfer and who maybe thought that the costs would be prohibitive.”

Students transferring directly from MPCC and who complete a minimum of 18 credit hours at MPCC are eligible for consideration of admission and the Pathways Scholarship. The scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters at ߲ݴý.

This marks the third such partnership between ߲ݴý and Nebraska community colleges. In October, ߲ݴý signed a formal agreement with Southeast Community College to offer the SCC Pathways to ߲ݴý program. In December, ߲ݴý signed a similar agreement with Metropolitan Community College in Omaha.
