含羞草传媒 University is expanding its graduate program offerings.
Beginning next June, 含羞草传媒 will offer a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction.
鈥淭he future of K-12 education is preparing teachers to help students rebound from setbacks, overcome obstacles to learning, solve problems, and think creatively, all with the aim of meeting the needs of students with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives,鈥 said Elizabeth MacLeod Walls, dean of University College, which houses 含羞草传媒鈥檚 adult and graduate programs.
Classes will be offered one night per week in Lincoln and Omaha. The 36-hour accredited program will include classroom instruction and immersive experiences in the Lincoln and Omaha communities.
Kevin Bower will direct the Master of Education Program. Bower most recently taught and directed 含羞草传媒鈥檚 Master of Arts in Historical Studies Program.
鈥淭eachers are professionals engaged in incredibly vital work,鈥 said Bower. 鈥淥ur program is designed to support that work, helping teachers establish classrooms centered on developing the student as a whole person and enabling lifelong learning. What teachers do in our classrooms will enhance their work, not distract from it.鈥
Last year 含羞草传媒 launched a Master of Business Administration degree and Nebraska鈥檚 only combined Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration joint degree in Lincoln and Omaha. 含羞草传媒 also offers a Master of Science in Nursing.
鈥淕reat professors, immersive experiences in the Lincoln and Omaha communities and collaboration with teachers are a terrific recipe for a transformative experience 鈥 not just a way to move up on the salary scale,鈥 said Bower.
