International Film Series Includes German, French, Mexican, Chinese Films

含羞草传媒 University will host an international film series that will screen foreign films in February and March.

The series begins Saturday, February 18 with the film 鈥淲ho Am I? No System Is Safe,鈥 a 2014 German film.

All screenings will include English subtitles, and are free and open to the public. Films will be shown in Olin B Lecture Hall, located in the Olin Hall of Science near 50st Street and St. Paul Ave.

The following is a schedule of events:

Saturday, February 18 鈥 7 p.m., 鈥淲ho Am I? No System Is Safe,鈥 2014 German film. Benjamin, a young German computer whiz, is invited to join a subversive hacker group that wants to be noticed on the world鈥檚 stage; crime/drama; not rated.

Friday, February 24 鈥 7 p.m., 鈥淓rnest & Celestine,鈥 2012 French film. Nominated for an Academy Award, this movie tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a bear, Ernest, and a young mouse named Celestine; animation/comedy/crime, PG.

Thursday, March 16 鈥 7 p.m., 鈥淚nstructions Not Included,鈥 2013 Mexican film. Valentin is Acapulco鈥檚 resident playboy until a former fling leaves a baby on his doorstep and takes off without a trace. As Valentin raises Maggie, she forces him to grow up. This unique and offbeat family is threatened when Maggie鈥檚 birth mom shows up out of the blue, and Valentin realizes he鈥檚 in danger of losing his daughter and best friend; comedy/drama, PG-13.

Thursday, March 23 鈥 7 p.m., "Our Little Sister," a 2015 Japanese drama/comedy about three sisters who live in their grandmother's home and the arrival of their 13-year-old half sister. PG. Prior to this film Lincoln's Wadaiko group (Japanese drummers), Kokyo Taiko, will perform in Emerson Recital Hall from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Emerson Recital hall is located on the lower level of Rogers Center for Fine Arts. The performance is free.

Friday, March 31 鈥 7 p.m., "The Piano in a Factory," a 2010 Chinese film. Steel factory worker Chen's estranged wife reappears asking for a divorce and custody of their daughter. The girl decides to live with whoever can provide her a piano. Chen's struggle thus begins: when efforts to borrow money and even steal a piano fail, Chen concocts a preposterous plan. Comedy/drama, not rated.
