º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ health and human performance professor was recognized at the recent faculty meeting for her work in mentoring and assisting her peers.
Professor of Health and Human Performance and HHP Department Chair Patricia (Pat) Pettit is the recipient of the 2021-22 Faculty Mentor of the Year award. The award recognizes faculty who help fellow faculty members to improve teaching, foster professional growth and assist their colleagues in participating meaningfully in service to campus and community.
"Pat regularly and routinely provides positive and insightful feedback to foster growth and improvement within the faculty in her department," said her nominator. "She checks in on others to see how their semester is going and how the students are doing. She offers to help wherever and whenever she is needed in order for the faculty and students to be successful."
Her nominator continued, "Pat is wonderful, and she often reminds the faculty in the HHP department about upcoming activities and opportunities to serve at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½. She is normally one of the first people to volunteer for any assignment, and she tries to match everyone up with opportunities that align with individual interests and needs."
Pat's colleagues also said she is more than just a superb mentor, she is an incredible advisor and friend as well.
Congratulations, Pat! We are so grateful to have you a part of our º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ community.
