߲ݴý will offer four new undergraduate majors beginning fall 2022: data analytics, digital marketing, financial planning and project management.

These majors will feature the traditional ߲ݴý experience with select online courses taught by national experts. Online courses are offered through ߲ݴý’s membership in a consortium of fellow Council of Independent Colleges members.

More about the majors:

  • Data analytics prepares students to understand complex data in an information-rich society. Courses in the program include Python and SQL programming, and data visualization. Program concentrations include cybersecurity, supply chain management, computer science and more.
  • Digital marketing enables graduates to pursue a variety of careers, including content strategy, marketing analytics and social media management. Students will learn how to create effective digital strategies utilizing persuasive communication and data analytics.
  • Financial planning sets students up to take the Certified Financial Planning exam to become financial advisors and planners. Coursework includes risk management and insurance planning, investment planning, tax planning, and more.
  • Project management teaches the leadership, communication, and technical skills to successfully manage complex projects. Career pathways include business analytics, IT project management and more.

“These new majors represent high-demand careers and sought-after degrees,” said ߲ݴý Provost Graciela Caneiro-Livingston. “߲ݴý is one of two schools in the state to offer a financial planning major – showcasing how we continue to meet student needs. We are taking a progressive response to students who are seeking academic options in high-demand fields.”

Students who pursue these majors will take part in ߲ݴý's Archway Curriculum which requires all students to complete an experiential learning component, such as an internship, research, study abroad and more. Caneiro-Livingston continued, “More than 95% of our recent seniors have reported job offers or grad school placements before graduation day. There is a lot happening at our university, and we are keeping career and graduate school readiness at the forefront of our decisions.”
