Central Community College has become ߲ݴý University’s newest partner in the Pathways Scholarship Program.
On Thursday, July 26, ߲ݴý University President Fred Ohles and Central Community College President Matt Gotschall signed the formal agreement.
The Pathways Scholarship Program provides two pathways to degree completion at ߲ݴý with financial benefits including a $15,000 scholarship to every admitted CCC student to ߲ݴý’s traditional undergraduate program. Those enrolling in the accelerated degree-completion program for adults will receive a $25 per credit hour scholarship and a low tuition rate to attend classes at ߲ݴý’s Lincoln campus or Omaha site.
Since 2013, 234 CCC students have transferred to ߲ݴý.
“Maximizing student success is a priority for both ߲ݴý and Central Community College,” said Ohles. “We’re delighted to partner with Central Community College and help students reach their highest potential.”
Students transferring directly from CCC and who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours at CCC are eligible for consideration of admission and the Pathways Scholarship. The scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters at ߲ݴý.
“We are very pleased that ߲ݴý is offering this opportunity to our CCC students regardless of the CCC campus or learning center site they attend as it will allow many students, both traditional age and adults, to complete a high-quality degree with less potential debt,” said Gotschall.
Students interested in the Pathways Scholarship Program can contact Caitlyn Potter Glaser, assistant director of admissions at ߲ݴý University at 402.465.7541. or cpotter [at] nebrwesleyan.edu (cpotter[at]nebrwesleyan[dot]edu). Transfer applications are still being accepted for the 2018-2019 academic year.
This marks the fifth such partnership between ߲ݴý and Nebraska and Iowa community colleges. In October, ߲ݴý signed a formal agreement with Southeast Community College to offer the SCC Pathways Scholarship Program. In December, ߲ݴý signed a similar agreement with Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, and last spring, ߲ݴý signed partnership agreements with Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte and Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
