Last week, ߲ݴý launched “Act II” of the theater building renovation project. This next phase of renovations features a lobby update, expanded restrooms, redesigned back-of-house and enhanced mechanical systems. Act I of the project was a million-dollar renovation of McDonald Theatre which included new seats, improved accessibility, LED lighting system, and a new, more versatile stage.

The theatre renovation is part of ߲ݴý's multi-year strategic plan which includes initiatives to enhance facilities like the theatre building.

"This is an important next step to ensure our nationally-recognized Theatre Department has the best facilities to continue their excellence on and off the stage that leads to extraordinary outcomes for our students," said President Darrin Good. The renovations also play an important role in improving the experience for theatre patrons and the Lincoln community as ߲ݴý collaborates with community partners to establish the University Place Arts District.

Want to learn more about the project, or join the growing cast of donors helping to make this project possible? Renovations will begin this summer and are expected to be completed before the first indoor theatre performance next fall.
